Three Things Thursday

1.  I love how automatic it is for me to get my work out in. I never wonder if but when.  I have very high standards when it comes to finding the time.  I give myself almost no excuses.  I am afraid that if I start it will be a slippery slope and I will do little exercising.  Now in reality I know that that won't happen but there is this little part of my mind that fears it so exercise I always do.  Now if only I could be as automatic with healthy eating.

2.  I super love how I seem to be discovering new ways to work out. I always knew I liked to bike but in the last two years I have grown to absolutely LOVE IT!  And now I feel the same way about swimming.  How did that happen?  I guess I am proof that you can suck at something and enjoy it regardless.  Who knows what else is out there waiting for me to discover with great joy? Skydiving?  Yoga? Tennis? Scuba diving (not a chance)?

3. This morning when I ran it was negative 4 degrees but it didn't feel it.  There was sun with no wind and it was gorgeous out after yesterday's storm.  This was a strange storm. I have friends about 10 miles away who still have green grass and we got more than 12 inches!  I took my camera with me this morning so I'll end with  a few pictures - what a surprise right?  I loved my run in the snow today - when it comes to winter I say - Bring It On!

Absolutely beautiful! We are experiencing record high's here in Walla Walla....54 today on my run. Weird.
And yes, we go back to school on Monday. It has caused mass confusion locally. No one can believe it!

Um... -4? That would require me to have about 18 layers on and I'd just roll down the street. I love how much you love the cold weather, I truly admire how it just doesn't bother you.

I could tell by the tone of your blog that you'd had a great day. Minus 4 and gorgeous? Certainly the pictures are. The scenery must be what keeps your mind off the freezing weather.

You are such an inspiration for sucking it up and just doing it. Has Nike contacted you for their "just do it' commercials yet? If not, they should!
Love, love your winter wonderland. I truly miss those magical sunny days after a snowstorm.

Very nice run - the trees are stunning after a storm like that! It is always so quiet and peaceful with the muffled noises and the soft crunching of snow underfoot. But skydiving...?

Beautiful winter pictures and kudos to you for getting out in the cold! It's so nice you are feeling so happy with your workouts!

I love your number 1. I wish I would do my workouts automatically and that when was the question and not if. Because most of the time, especially this week it's if and not doing it wins a lot.

Have a great New Year's Eve Andrea and thank you for being such a good blogger friend this year. I appreciate it.

I have a love/hate relationship with swimming. When I am doing it consistently I love it but when I don't I hate it. I think it is all about the frame of mind.

Love the snow pics!

Sounds like you're still on a vacation high. I really need to adopt a similar attitude toward swimming workouts especially. Thanks for all those shots of beauty too.

I say bring on the awesome snow pictures! You always have the best photographs - not to mention running in negative 4 degrees makes you HARD CORE!

Yoga, yoga, yoga! I never thought I'd be a yogi until I discovered CorePower.

The snow pictures are beautiful!!!!!!!

Your pictures are GORGEOUS!! I'm jealous...of the snow, not necessarily the temps.

Your #2 thing made me laugh. "Proof you can suck at something and still enjoy it." Story of my athletic life!

No wind is the bonus upon bonuses when cold temps are present. Great pictures!

I love the pictures with ice and snow because those are landscapes and situations unknown for me. Living near the sea in a temperate zone is very different.
I am sure that it was a "magic" run.
I love swimming too and you will love it more when you do it across the sea.
Happy NEw Year to you and family.

I'm going to have to hang out here for my snow fix as we have next to nada. I agree, the cold is fine, its the the wind that complicates things.
