What I'm Reading Wednesday

I always like these posts when others do them so at least this week I'm going to link up and join in.

Mud Sweat and Gears Next 3326 Miles by Joe Kurmaskie

I may have blogged about this before I have been reading it for so long.  It is my gym book which means I only read it at the gym and only when I am warming up or cooling down on the treadmill. I love the book and asked for it last Christmas as I had read another book by the author about a cross country biking adventure with 2 of his boys.  This time 3 boys (one a nursing baby) and his wife are along. It is a GREAT story with a lot of humor and heart.  I highly recommend it.

The Apple Orchard by Susan Wiggs is the book I am reading most of the time now. It is taking me forever in my reading world.  It is not grabbing me as some of her books have. It is chick lit, a genre that I admit appeals to me.  I am not sure if this one really is not as good as  her others or if it is that I have finally joined the Breaking Bad party and that is calling to me louder than my book is.  Breaking Bad is getting about an hour a night and by the time I am reading I am just about asleep!
I am on Season 2 and have so much left to watch!!

Reading anything good to recommend?  Any tv series drawing you away from reading?

I just rereading "Look Me in the Eye" by John Elder Robison. It's about growing up with un diagnosed Asperger Syndrome and in a highly dysfunctional family. It's fascinating and sad and funny.

I leant my Joe Kurmaskie books to a friend a couple years ago. I need to get those back so I can read them again.

I like Susan Wiggs' books. I finished Custody, I liked it. I'm happy you are enjoying breaking bad.

LOVE Breaking Bad!! You're right, it is sooo addicting. When I get super hooked on a new show, usually on Netflix, it will definitely distract me from reading for a week or so as I plow through!

I have discovered Scandanavian thrillers, very good: Jo Nesbo, Jussi Adler Olsen and I discovered the Jack Reacher thrillers by Lee Childs. Very good too.

When Breaking Bad started here, I didn't watch it. Too bad because it seems to be very good.

I'm glad Walking Dead season 4 started. These days it's on Dutch TV the day after the episode airs in the US so I don't have to wait.
Also watch Grey's, The Big Bang, Rizzoli & Isles and The Good Wife at the moment. Next moment new seasons of Once upon a time and Revenge. Yes you thought it right: I'm a TV series addict LOL

The whole family is addicted to Modern Family and Homeland right now, but they don't really cut into my reading time. I just got my name on the reserve list at the library for the Booker Prize winner, The Luminaries, and am about to start Gone Girl.

I don't like watching TV.
I'm reading a classic revisited at the moment (I read it the first time some years ago). It's the James Joyce's 1914 collection, "Dubliners". Dublin provided the inspiration for Joyce's work, even though he spent his adult life in Trieste (Italy).

I'm reading a trail runner's guide to South African trails and it is making my bucket list very long! I'm not a big TV watcher but I do watch Criminal Minds and Body of Proof with my wife. Oh yes, and The Mentalist.

Ohhhh, Breaking Bad! I only started watching it because it was filmed in Albuquerque, but soon became addicted. The final episodes of this past season had me on the edge of my seat!

I was reading quite a bit until a few weeks ago. Not sure what caused me to stop other than maybe not being all that into the books I have recently chosen.

I am so not into TV this season, although I rarely am. I'm reading Grain Brain, which drives home many points I already know about the way we eat. Food for thought for sure.

I know you asked me a while ago about favorite books and I never blogged about it. I don't know if I even have a favorite but I've done more reading this year than I have in a long, long time. I'm currently reading the third book in a series about super heroes who survive the zombie apocalypse... maybe not books you'd be interested in but enjoyable for me and my husband! I also read all three of Rainbow Rowell's books and enjoyed them very much. They might be more your speed.

I've only seen episode 1 of season 1 of Breaking bad so you are ahead of me at least! We've been watching a lot of 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation here, which sometimes takes the place of reading for me too...

I've been wanting to watch Breaking Bad for a while now but can only find Season's two or up at my local store. If I'd bitten the bullet I could have ordered it on line and had it here by now but am still procrastinating. I've heard that it's great!

Stuck reading medical literature for my RD Internship. And no time for TV! Thank goodness I can escape for a run!
