This week actually felt like a week of tri training! I may not have had the intensity or distance but I did 4 runs, 3 bikes and 2 swims. In my world that is triathlon training. So I am once again entering the tunnel and it is a long one but I do feel like I can glimpse some light!
I already wrote about my initial bike rides which were pretty tentative. Today I got up and ran 8 first and can I say the temperature could not have been more perfect! What a day!
Heading up the mountain for the beginning of my ride.
Then I took a little break and headed out to bike. I had thought I would do the same 10 I did on Friday but right away I could feel some improvement with the whole riding with a splint thing. It felt fairly comfortable so I changed my mind about where I was going and decided to do a loop I love that I had not done all year on my road bike because a lot of it is dirt. It is a fairly challenging loop - quite hilly and riding on it made me feel I was really accomplishing something in the training department. I wasn't setting any speed records but I had a great time. The temperatures continued to be perfect and I found myself stopping and taking pictures - always a sign of a good ride for me.
Now on the dirt road getting closer to the mountain.
I did find when I was going down hills that I have one foot in the Better Safe Than Sorry Camp as I used my brakes for most of the hills. If I had both feet in I guess I would have been home rocking on the porch.
This picture and the one below are heading down into town
and the views are great.
Getting more comfortable with the spint/bike thing.
Just happy to be out here.
