Winter - I Love It

What I love about winter

  • I love running in cooler temperatures.
  • I love the look of everything after a snow storm.
  • I love to turn the light on when it is dark and watch it snow outside. Magical.
  • I love snow days when I stay home from work.
  • I love the excuse of sitting next to the wood fire to be warm reading a book.
  • I love the slower pace of weekend days.
  • I love the chance to wear all my fleece and running half zips.
  • I love running when it is snowing.
  • I love running when no one else is outside and the roads are empty of cars and people.

Trouble is this year.......I'm mostly waiting for winter to happen.

I love all your reasons. We hardly get snow here in the South, but when it does, I always light up.

I hope your winter will happen for you soon.

Come to Colorado, you can have all the winter you want!

This is the weirdest winter. It gets cold for a minute, then warms up, and it makes it that much harder to deal with the cold. And I have this fear that we're going to get hit by winter in April. Of course, seems like winter hangs on longer for you, but that's way too late for us!

I'm so jealous. Sitting here in shorts and a singlet, sweltering. I hate our Summers!

We haven't had a winter at all either! Although at this point, I'm kind of looking forward to spring, so I'll be interested to see what mother nature holds for us in January and February.

Some of the reasons you love about Winter, I do love too.

Our Winter is strange too. December was the most dry month in years while January probably will be one of the warmest months ever although with a lot of rain/storms. I'm not complaining, the temps are great for running now.

Here in England we are having a very mild winter this year. It's been around 12 degrees C recently (about 50F) and it doesn't feel much like winter. Although I'm not keen on the cold, I wouldn't mind it being a bit colder than this.

Waiting for winter? Seriously? It was 69 degrees with 97% humidity yesterday morning when I ran. I'd be happy with some Fall like weather!

Love those reasons and would love to experience them one day. Our winters are dry and we don't get snow.

We haven't had much winter weather either... but that's ok with me as long as it doesn't arrive when I don't want it (ie. March wedding). I have been enjoying running in spring-like weather the past month or so.

I am glad that you can embrace the winter. Me, I am a summer gal and I am waiting impatiently for it to get here!

Love your list!

I can bottle some snow up and send it to you if you'd like. We do have snow, but unseasonably warmer temperatures than normal. Looks like we are heading into a deep freeze tonight though.

Hang in there, winter will find you!

Winter hasn't shown itself here yet either. Strange January weather...

That's a great list and I agree with most, although I am not a fan of winter wind or sloppy footing!

I like it best when it snows and then melts the next day!

I love that you love winter...I am just not on that bandwagon.
It sure looks pretty though. :)

Oh, I want snow!!! I know we won't get any in the Bay Area but there is none in the mountains either.
I'll just sit a home and look at your wonderful pictures as I turn green with envy. I actually like winters (except when all that white stuff turns to slush)

You can have the cold and snow, although you are not getting much this year. My folks have had hardly any snow in upstate NY. Very bizarre start to winter. It is quite peaceful to run with soft snow falling around you though! Have a great week!

We've had a similar issue out here in California. I was supposed to test some snow gear in the mountains but it's hard to do when the weather won't cooperate. Beware - we both might end up eating our words like in Alaska right now.
