Just Registered for Triathlon #3

I'm taking a leap of faith that I'm going to like Triathlon #2 because it's still more than a week away and here I go registering for number 3!  I am sitting here smiling as I type this so I'm quite confident it's the right decision.  Here are some of the reasons.

  • it's a 3 day weekend so easy to fit in
  • it's near where I went to college so I get to hang around my old stomping grounds and remember when
  • one of my old college friends (the one I visit every summer) is going to come up for it to see me in a triathlon and to hang out around Plymouth too
  • I wanted to get 3 triathlons in this summer and even though I started late with the broken wrist and all this will let me do it.  There is another one in Sept. once again in NH but much farther away and I'm going to stick with 3.  Triathlons aren't cheap.  However next summer I am confident there will be more than 3 triathlons that I will make it to.
  • I spent a lot of money on tri gear (not really - hit some great sales) and it allows me to get more use out of them.
  • I looked at the web site and they had some great t shirts.
  • I'll get one more chance to become a bit more confident in an OWS.
  • I'll get to race on my bike again
  • The run is short and maybe I'll have a better pace
  • Right now my heart is totally with tris so why not make my heart happy?
What in the exercise world is making your heart happy these days?

I'm in the midst of marathon training (for my first) but I've started thinking about what I want to do next spring. I'm getting lots of inspiration from your tri posts ;-)
Can't wait to hear how the next two go!

Nice! I think you know how I love signing up for races in advance. Your tri career is now in full swing! Enjoy! I just received an invite to a 3 stage (2 day) trail run in December that includes a night stage. That is certainly making me happy!

Very excited for you! :)

I leave in 9 days for my next 24-hr adventure race with my favorite teammates. That makes me very happy.

I LOVE that you're loving triathlons!! I'm so tired of being injured!!! I just wanna run!

p.s. I can't remember if I told you, but this has been my summer of Harlan Coben books. I've devoured all of them!

I think it's great that tris are making you happy. That's what it's all about. As soon as we aren't enjoying the journey, why do it? Very cool!

BTW--the place we go in the ADKs is about 2 hours from Burlington. Always meet people there from your town!

It's all about making the heart happy! I know how much of an investment a triathlon is, in time, energy and expense; Kudos to you for loving it and for doing 3 in a row! I'm loving running at the moment, but that could change overnight!

What a wonderful news that you are registered for the 3rd tri. :) If it makes you happy, why not do it, right?

What makes me happy (in the area of fitness?).
With a big ol' pregnant belly, I am just happy to be able to walk 2 miles without getting sore! :) Looking forward to the day when I can start training for something.

Wow! Good for you!

What is making me happy right now in exercise is that my 13-year-old son wants to go for another run/walk with me this morning!

Fantastic! Can't wait to see how you get on in your next triathlons!

You're right to sign up, you have all good reasons to do so but the most important thing is that it's make you happy.

Usually running makes me happy but lately I'm struggling a lot with all my workouts. Hopefully it will turn around for the better soon.

A couple of busy months of training and racing ahead for you. And that's the way you like it.

You are the RACING MACHINE but then we already knew that! Glad you are enjoying the Tri life - keep getting after it! What makes me happy these days? Feeling good, finally. Two hard trail runs in the mountains along with a challenging bike ride this week - yes!!! :-)

How fun!! I decided that I want to do another tri but not this year. I may do the one I did this year again next year. We'll see.
I had been really enjoying the pool and I loved the OWS at my tri. I just haven't had the time lately to get to the pool/lake.
