All these pictures are from my bike commute yesterday
except the last two which I took today.
1. First I don't think the boar from my last post was wild. I think a family owned it as it was in a yard both times I saw it. Do people let boars run wild? Will they stay put in one place? I did find out on line that Vermont has some wild boars.
Heading up along the river
2. A book I read last week is really staying with me. My mind goes back to the story over and over even though it was fiction. I looked to see if the author had written anything else as it was an old book but it doesn't appear she has.
Almost home
3. I managed to swim in the morning and bike on Monday after school. I had to go to Middlebury which is always a good place to bike. I had packed both running and biking clothes as I didn't know if the rain would have let up enough to ride but it was great weather for riding. Once again a bike ride was a great stress reliever and helped me end my day in a happy place.
There are now horses on our land - look closely
4. I have gotten up early both Tuesday and today to run and plan to repeat it tomorrow. I always say I don't get up early easily but I needed to front load my workouts. I am going away for the weekend to cheer and support Emily in her first 50 Miler so I will not have time for work outs of my own. I have two more runs to fit in and then I plan to be off my work out schedule and on Ems.
The view from our front porch
5. I did doubles three days in a row.
The horses come trotting up as I get out my bike. They must
think I have some food.
6. I took lots of pictures on my bike commute yesterday and a few more today. It wasn't sunny but it was still very pretty.
By the time I got home it was quite foggy.
7. For a rainy week I have managed to have rain free rides.
8. I'm not sure how I feel about running in the dark. I don't need sun screen. You meet people but don't have a clue who you are seeing. Yesterday I fell - brilliant - no harm done. I love scenery and running in a village in the dark does not provide it. I don't think this will become a regular thing but it's nice to know I can fit it in this way when I need to.
9. I miss swimming when I am only doing it once a week.
10. An early morning workout is best followed by pumpkin spice coffee.

I just read an article the other day that said a farmer was eaten by his boar (no lie).
Quite the scenic landscape you have to look at. If I posted pics from around my area, you would probably get a chuckle, or just feel sorry for me.
Great pictures! Nice job getting early runs in too. I really struggle getting morning runs in.
Your pictures are just beautiful! Great job on all your workouts. I'm nowhere near as consistent as you.
I'm not a big fan of running in the dark. Sidewalk cracks are treacherous....I've only fallen on sidewalks a few times, but it's sure no fun. This morning I didn't see a tree limb hanging over the sidewalk. Luckily it missed my eye, but it stabbed right into my hair, which took me a bit to escape. And, of course, the skunks. It's not a normal run if I dont startle one and have to dart away. But it beats not running.
THANK YOU! My eyes are happy now.
Okay, I have to know - what was the book???
I suppose boars could be kept as pets...people keep those pot-bellied pigs, too, right?
Gorgeous autumn (or fall) scenery! Have a great weekend, and good luck to Emily.
Anything is good when followed by Pumpkin Spice Coffee. Have fun this weekend and good luck to Emily!
beautiful!!!
Your pictures are beautiful. I love the fall colors. We don't have much color yet, but the temperatures are nice and I am thankful for that.
Pumpkin spiced coffee makes everything better :)
I think you are doing a good job getting workouts in. And three doubles in a week?! That's awesome!!
Hope you have fun this weekend.
Beautiful views. It has been raining everyday here too. Your energy inspires me. I love pumpkin everything.
Great pictures, as usual. I think most of the time I comment it's about the pictures. Don't stop.
I'm loving the fall foliage!! You have an awesome view from your porch. The horses are pretty too.
I'm heading up to my parents' this weekend and am hoping the trees have changed out their way.
I actually like running in the dark - as long as there's street lights so I can see that I'm not going to run into a pothole and break an ankle. It feels like you're cloaked in secrecy, that you're the only person in the world.
Thanks for making sure I saw your comment about the book, Andrea! I'm going to go check right now to see if my library has it - it sounds like something I would like. Last night I started a new book and it kept me up half the night - it's called The Expats - I'm sure I'll be blogging about it on my book blog when I'm done!
I don't like running in the dark but I do it once a week. I do my other two runs in the weekend where I can run at daylight.
Running in the dark is just running. Running in daylight is also seeing things.
Have lots of fun this weekend.
Beautiful pictures! I don't think we are going to have much in the way of fall colors this year. It was just so hot and dry this summer many trees have already lost their leaves...well they did in the summer.
There are wild boars in Texas. I've seen them in places where I have run and biked outside of Houston. They can get big and be dangerous sometimes. I'd much rather see horses!
Running in the dark is amazing: the lights, the sky, the voices. Everything is different. I miss my runs, impossible to run again before early november.
Beautiful photos.
I love running in the dark because it gives me the opportunity to avoid the crowds and see the main sights illuminated spectacularly.
Beautiful pictures of fall sceneries ... I like the most the third one.
Have a nice Sunday!
Fall colors in the northeast are pretty amazing, thanks for sharing.
You're probably past open water season but I sent Em home with a bottle of tri slide for you for next summer!
