A Snowy Weekend...........Finally and a Little Swimming

My forgetfulness continues........I forgot my swim cap and goggles on Friday!  Thankfully I had an extra pair of goggles so I was good to go.  I bought Speedo goggles at Costco on Friday.  I haven't found quite the right goggles yet. Opinions?  What works for you?  I have not started my private swim lessons yet and won't for a couple of weeks. Then I have to miss a week right off.  But that's okay. I can be patient...........and continue to imprint those bad habits.  Not so good!

Saturday's snow

We finally got a little snow and I do mean a little. It snowed both nights this weekend and there is still no need to plow. T got quite a bit more at her house though. I did finally get out the Yak Trax. It is so odd that it is the end of February and I am putting them on for the first time.  It was also cold today although it warmed up once we started.  We only went 6 miles but it felt like so much more! The snow was soft and it felt like running in soft sand. I am not used to it at all!  We were both glad we did the longer run yesterday when the roads were better.  I am still having some problems with the top of my foot.  Not enough to keep me from running but I have to "play" with it before I go. I readjust the tongue a few times, loosen the laces near that part of my foot and wear a bunion pad.  It doesn't hurt when I run but I want it to just go away!
Time to get out the Yak Trax

Sunday's snow

The sky was a gorgeous blue!

Just in case you've forgotten how cute Jaxon is!

I didn't have my swim lesson Saturday as the coach/instructor had a swim meet.  But I kept up my Saturday routine of visiting Jaxon Jameson.  It's a very relaxing routine that involves time with my son and cuddling with his dog!  We watched Gran Torino which I had seen before but LOVE that movie.

First thing's first: Jax is CUTE. I have a crush on him, I think.
Gran Torino is a wonderful movie. I love Clint Eastwood movies.
Believe it or not, we, yes, we, people from SF Bay Area might get some (the key word is some) snow mid week. So I guess our summer has not started roe real yet even though on Thu. we hit 77 degrees.
Hope your foot stops bothering you.
I have never run in Y-T but I have run in microspikes. That was rather fun.

I like Aquasphere Kaiman goggles. They are wider than my speedo goggles and don't leave rings for as long.

I use speedo goggles. I hate when you forget stuff...but its bound to happen when you are packing and unpacking stuff all the time. The worst is when I forget my bra for afterwards...now that's a problem!

If there was an award for best pictures of scenery...you would win. I love seeing all your pictures! And that snow! I have never run in snow!

Can't wait to hear how your private lessons go!

I love the Sable water optics goggles. They are expensive but do not fog AT ALL and fit perfectly.

I watched Gran Torino for the first time on Saturday. Great movie. But I'd taped it from the TV a few weeks ago and it had been on after a cricket match which went on way too long. This meant that we got about ten minutes from the end and the taping ran out. Talk about a cliff-hanger. Luckily one of my sons had it on his computer so I got to see the end the next day.

I usually use Speedo goggles but purchase on swimoutlet.com (good prices on suits too).

Jaxon is too cute. Too bad he and Bella live to far away otherwise we could arrange a playdate and we could have coffee :) Okay Jameson can come too :)

I'm so not jealous of your snow. Here it looks like Spring is around the corner and I look forward to that.

I had goggles when I swam too but they weren't right either. Never bothered to look for a different pair. So no help here.

I loved Gran Torino very much too, I love almost all Clint Eastwood movies.

At this point I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't see any more snow this year. I think we got about 2 inches total. haha.
I love Jaxon. I bet him and Delilah would be fast friends.

I wear Sable goggles - they are pricey but they haven't given me any issues at all.

I hear you on the snow. I am NOT used to it, so running is so difficult when we get some!

Nice snow pics and of course beautiful pup! Hope you get the foot sorted. It can be a problem on longer runs I'm sure.

Running in snow is different, that's for sure. You find all kinds of muscles you didn't know you had.

I love the Speedo Vanquisher for goggles. I've been wearing them for years and they just seem to work for me.

My favorite goggles are Aquasphere Kayenes. I have only worn them a couple of times but they are so much better than anything else I have worn!

I see - movie *bribery* in order to get some dog time... :) Sorry, but no input on goggles as we don't use them on the trails ;-)

So glad you had a great vacation! I'm loving all the new clothes you got...wowzaaa!

I just LOVE Beaggies and Jaxon is just the cutest!

As for goggles, I have several pair but I always seem to gravitate to my Sables...

We have gotten a couple of snowstorms over the last week. Everyone complains about them, but I secretly love the snow. It's so pretty! As long as it isn't 18 inches like the last big one we got, I'm ok with the snow.

I have an old pair of Jill's TYR goggles that are pink and I love them. I have actually bought a couple of pairs for myself, but I keep going back to those same old pink pair.
