Battle of the Books Part 2

Today was the final battle which was between the students and the mystery team!  The original battle was on Wednesday.  The mystery team also had it's own cheerleaders!  Apparently my students didn't know who I was in the wig at first but were thrilled at their goofy teacher once they did know!  We looked and acted pretty ridiculous in our wigs and sports outfits.  We ran out to the theme music from Rocky pumping our fists. Of course it didn't mean much to the kids but the adults loved it. (My husband who wasn't working even came to watch.)  We "battled" the students who eventually won! It was a blast because both principals dressed up, many teachers, the librarian etc.  Other adults stepped forward to sit with our classes as we disappeared to change!  All in all it was quite a good time which the kids will associate at least somewhat with reading.
Lovely, aren't I in a
wig from a Dorothy
costume!

The mystery team! My principal has the sparkly pink
wig on! What a trooper!

Our cheerleaders having just a fantastic time!

You ARE SO lovely in your wig! And without too! What a fun day!
And I totally feel your pain with coordinating Boston spectating--I had a posse of 12+ last year and working out the logistics of where they'd be and how was almost harder than running!
You'll have a blast though!

I love this post, it is right up my alley(and yours too, I see)! Wigs, cheering, books and kids. Fun!
I saw our comment on Marcia's and I thought I might suggest that you pick one spot at Boston to watch your daughter and not try to take the T anywhere because after trying that twice, my husband swears he won't do it again. It's really, really crowded. He missed me both times. Also, wear something bright on your head so she can spot to at that pre-appointed spot and have her leave her cell phone, wrapped in a sock, in her Boston check in bag so you can call her when she's done and meet. She'll really need you then!
