So today's race!
I felt GREAT the whole run. I did 5 miles although the distance I was racing was 4. It was cool. I was wearing capris, short sleeve shirt and a hoodie over that. There wasn't much traffic but it was 6 a.m. and foggy so I was watching those blind corners carefully. Every mile felt good with no pain and my pace was faster than it has been in previous days. There were no other runners out there racing or otherwise but I did meet one biker. I didn't wear my Ipod so it was just me and the road. As I was racing I was thinking about:
- how my heel was feeling
- today was going to be my first official day back at work
- if I had allowed enough time to do stretches, shower and grab a cup of coffee before work
- what news people would have from the summer
- how I would try to do the race again on Wednesday and go faster
- how I didn't bring a camera to take any race pictures as I was so worried about getting to work on time
- how my heel was feeling
- that racing is my crack.........when I can't race I definitely have withdrawals
- how my heel was feeling ........
So my overall pace was 10:29. It took me 41:55. My splits were: 10:38, 10:37, 9:54, 10:16. I felt good I was able to do this race at all even if not at a pace I would have hoped for! Happy Birthday MCM Mama!
Back home happy to have raced!

Yeah for running!!! I'm glad you were able to run and not have pain. Fingers crossed this keeps up!
Happy racing and happy first day back at school! I hope you had time for a shower and coffee before you went. :-)
You were able to wear a hoodie?! I'm jealous. Way to go out there and..how's your heel doing? :)
Wooohoooo, no heel pain on the virtal race is even better than the overall pace, to me!! Nice job, girlie!!!
I hope your first day back was great and you got caught up on all the summer activities. I started back yesterday and thus my lack of much blogging. Crazy busy...but in a good way. I'm usually not ready to go back but this year I kinda was.
Keep in touch and let me know how your heel and marathon training are going. I'm sooo happy for you :).
Great news - you're back! Hope you enjoyed getting back to work...
Hooray! She's back at running! Must felt very good for you to run painfree!
Yay! So glad you were able to run without pain!
Hope you had a nice first day back...my husband goes back today.
Back to running must feel really good, except maybe for the fog. We had a bit of rainy, cooler weather and are not liking the reminder of "fall" - uggh, summer can't be over?? Don't think there will be many at work with more summer stories than you had!!! Have a fantastic week.
Great virtual race! Mmm the idea of fog in the morning really makes me want to go for a foggy, early morning, fall run! I hope your heel is still feeling ok.
Awesome that you had a pain free run!
Hope that you have another awesome pain free race on Saturday!!
I can't believe it's already back to school.
Nice one! I hope the heel is fine for Saturday. Good luck with "back to work"!
Congrats on a great run!
I can't imagine wearing capris or hoodies just yet, but I am looking forward to the day!
I hope your heel feels okay for the relay!
So glad the heel cooperated and you got your race on! Great job!
Good luck on the first week back!
That's great you're able to get back at it, and that the heel is better...have a great school year!
Running on land, I'm so jealous :-) I will now live vicariously through you. Hopefully not for too much longer! You were running at 6:00 a.m.?! I'm impressed.
Congrats! Glad the heel felt good.
Great virtual race report! Good news...she is back in action again!! I am so glad to hear that you are running and feeling great:) BTW, I love those cute running capris. Take care!
Sounds GREAT, and so glad you were pain free. I never run with music, so I can totally relate about everything that was rolling around in your head!
I missed this post on Tuesday! Congrats on your race, how awesome you ran without pain! Hope you are adjusting to your work schedule again and hope the year flies by quickly! I love your new banner, that picture is fantastic!
