Both of these pics are taken in one of my favorite little parks on the bike path.
Beautiful views in all directions!
Surprising the hubby at work!
We also rode out to see my hubby at his new job site. I hadn't told him I would be on the bike path today so I think he was surprised to see me.T loved the Causeway which she had never been on. We were there nice and early so it wasn't too crowded. She had trouble finding me when I first got there. I guess I need to brush up my direction giving skills because last week the same thing happened with my other friends. I park on the waterfront in a free parking lot but it is not well known and apparently hard to find. That is good except when my friends are trying to meet me!
T on her bike!
On my newly tuned up bike!
Out at the cut
Back on the bike path. The house to the left is going to be
mine when I win the lottery. Lots of glass, beautiful lake views, cozy spot.
This picture doesn't do it justice.
Also, I did go white water rafting yesterday and had the best time imaginable! I loved everything about it. It took us a little more than two hours to get there. We got to ride the free ferry in both directions since the Crown Point Bridge is being rebuilt. It was in the middle of nowhere! We didn't go by anything but woods and lakes. Five of us went and we had an awesome guide whose grandmother was also in our raft! It was great. I loved the rapids! A dam is released which is where the white water comes from at this time of year. The temperature of the water was 70 degrees so no problems there. We were soaked for most of the ride. I did go swimming at one point which helped keep me cool for the rest of the day. The last two miles were just floating to get to our take out point which I was not as crazy about. Mostly because my body was tired and cramped of being in the same position. I loved all the splashing, the white water, "surfing - we rocked at this!" There will be pictures at some point as we all chipped in to buy the CD which made it quite inexpensive. It includes all the shots of us plus some scenic shots. It was very scenic and peaceful. I will repeat this experience!

Such a gorgeous setting!!
This area is just asking to be biked around. Love it!
You are such a daredevil...I'm pretty wimpy when it comes to anything that feels like a carnival ride :)
Love that bike trail...really beautiful! You look great in your bike shorts :)
Amazing! You're squeezing every last drop out of summer :)
You live a wonderfully active life. How awesome that you get to experience so many fun and healthy activities with the most BEAUTIFUL scenery!
Awesome bike shorts! You are a real cyclist now. :-) That rafting trip sounds like a lot of fun, you're so adventurous!
Wow, beautiful! It makes such a difference when you can bike, hike, run or walk in such gorgeous surroundings!
You had such a pretty bike ride...the scenery is gorgeous! I think it is fantastic that you have found another way to stay active:) Biking is fun!
Finally, a picture of your hubby too! I see where Jameson gets his height!
Beautiful pictures! Everything looks so relaxed out there. looks like you are enjoying the biking. Can't wait to see some pics of the rafting, very exciting!
You are looking like a natural on the bike. You will have to go back to work to rest up after all you pack into the summer!!! That causeway path looks great - do you run it also? Have a great week!
So much fun! I love that you went rafting! Love the bike too!
Sounds like a great ride; so nice to surprise hubby at work.
Glad you had such a good time rafting. I'll have to try that some day.
Keep enjoying these final summer days!
I had a lot to catch up on Andrea but I did.
I love that house too, must be special to live there so fingers crossed you win that lottery.
Beautiful bike ride you've had.
I'm moving where you are. so beautiful.
Mkay when you win the lottery I am moving in!! I am gushing over these photos, so jealous :)
If I can embrace the scale anyone can! I am currently reminding myself how good (and filling) veggies are. You can eat soo much more quantity of those than m&m's and you're not all guilty after. I also gotta keep telling myself "skinny tastes better" (than carrying this extra weight!)
Can't wait to see your rafting pics. I'm too afraid to try that.
So .. tell me ... do biking shorts these days still have that padded butt (kinda diaperish feel to them, not necessarily the look, but the feel). I haven't bought specific biking shorts in about 18 years. Just found my old ones in a box the other day and tried them on. They fit, but it's hard to believe I found them comfy back then.
The cows are Belgian "dikke bil" which means "big butt" - specially bred that way, ugh. But they still have the sweetest faces and dispositions...
You've had some great rides lately.
I love white water rafting. I haven't been since we had the kids. I look forward to Shoo getting old enough to go with us.
Looks like a very scenic path!
I haven't been white water rafting since I was a kid. But we used to go when we went camping, and I remember my mom couldn't wear her contacts or glasses because she was afraid she'd lose both, so she was basically blind every time!
Rafting sounds exciting! I wish I had those views on my bike rides!
Super cool pics - I'm kinda liking this Blog :-)
Cool biking pics. I hope your heal is doing better!
