The first part of the day involved sleeping and then eating following a looooooong day of travel. But after a bit I went to work with Emily. I love that I'll now have visual images of her house, her work, her city and her friends. I met lots of people so I hope I can keep them straight. Part way through the afternoon she took a running break (how cool is that..) and we went on one of the bike paths along the McKenzie River. It was gorgeous and at that point the weather was still nice. I loved this path. I loved running with Emily. I loved being in Eugene. I loved running with Emily. I know I already said that.
This was a beautiful path that apparently goes for miles.
I was surprised by all the fall colors. Ours are pretty much gone.
Lots of fun bridges.
I was envious of Emily's running shirts all weekend.
Had to get some pictures for the blog.
Emily turns around and does a faster mile without me slowing
her down. She was very gracious about my lack of speed.
I enjoy the scenery.
This is Emily coming back. It was just so pretty.
I spent time before and after the run just sitting on the couch in
her office completely content reading and drinking coffee.
Later I snuck in on a brewery tour with her....
.........before I did a tasting. Plus I got some new clothes! Right
now I'm wearing my new Ninkasi sweatshirt and it's extremely
comfortable. Love it.
I did not end up renting a bike. It was too much hassle with a not very good weather forecast. I didn't regret that decision as the weekend continued.
That night we went out with one of her roommates for one of many good meals here. But we didn't stay out too late because the next morning we were getting up early for a marathon. I would just be spectating thank goodness!
