Five Random Points and Be Sure to Watch the Video

1. Welcome back bloggers! There are a lot of bloggers who have been missing in action back! It's great to hear from them and see what they are up to!

2. I've been on a bit of a going to the movies kick.  Three of them I have seen with my husband. The first one we saw was ARGO and I haven't seen anything since I liked nearly as much. I would see it again with no problem.  Then I saw Lincoln which I also liked a good deal.  Then we saw Les Miserables and I am sorry Darlene, but it didn't do much for me. I liked it but I did not love it and would not want to see it again.  Most recently we saw Promised Land which was also just okay.  Nice scenery in it.  I think the next one we are going to see is Zero Dark Thirty.  Any recommendations? Do you have a favorite movie you have seen that I should catch on DVD if it is already gone?

3.  Here's another one I don't like but it's tv not a movie. I think I may be the only person who doesn't care for Downton Abbey.  Actually doesn't care for is a bit mild.  I don't like it at all.  Perhaps I didn't give it enough of a chance but the one time I saw it I thought it was like watching paint dry. Sorry.

4. I have a little bit of an itch to travel to a race, probably a half marathon next summer. Any recommendations?

5. One more thing.......this was posted on Facebook and happened at a local ski area.

What's random in your life?

I saw Argo and Lincoln too. I really enjoyed those movies. Go see Parental Guidance. Its a great family movie.

BTW, there are some fun half marathons here in Hawaii. Or if you want to warm up for the winter, you can do the Honolulu Marathon in December.

You should rent the Intouchables. This is the best movie I have seen in years. It's such a feel good movie, I smiled the whole movie through. I have to warn you though: it's a French movie but it's so worth watching!

We can't all like the same :) I love Downton Abbey. Your fav show right now Criminal Minds doesn't do much for me.

Hi there! I wasn't really gone but not as much online as usual during the holidays. I did not read as many blogs as usual and feel behind and out of touch. My wife is slowly getting better after her fight with Rheumatic fever. I am in hard training mode now with a serious year of running ahead.

I will be looking forward to reading about the half marathon which you'll choose!

I want to see Argo. And Zero Dark Thirty. I always like to see Oscar noms. THe Silver Linings director is from my area, so I want to see that too. I mean...anything with Bradley Cooper is okay with me!

How dare you criticize Britain's Downton Abbey!! Actually I've never seen it myself.

I'd love to see Argo, but will have to wait for the DVD as we so most films these days.

I think you should travel to the UK for a race!

I haven't seen any of those movies but I'd like to see Argo. I've heard a lot of good things about it. I also agree with Jill and would like to see Silver Linings Playbook.
I've never watched Downton Abbey. I don't even really want to see it.

Saw Django - lots of violence but I kinda liked. Saw silver linings and like that but didn't love. I want to see Dowton Abbey but I think I will agree with you. Right now I'm addicted to vampire novels :)

I don't usually see movies at the theatre, but saw two in Chicago (neither I chose)

This is 40 <-- terrible!
Silverlinings Playbook <-- Not bad.

Then I saw one last week with my son and we might see another one this weekend

Jack Reacher <-- I liked it, he didn't

I didn't love Les Mis either. It was just okay. By the end I was just longing for someone to just say something instead of sing it. I quite enjoyed The Hobbit. And I loved Argo.

I'm not a big movie person but my wife is so I saw Lincoln and Argo over break. We have a couple nice half marathons (and fulls) in April and October here in St. Louis. If the dates work out I could do the post race cookout.

Zero Dark Thirty is excellent. Definitely a film that needed to be made. As a "movie" it's a little long, but that's just a minor thing. You'll enjoy it I'm sure.

I would be scared to death if I was that skier - jeez! He is lucky the moose gave up!

I don't care for Downton Abby either. We just saw the first episode of Homeland, which I think we will keep watching.

A half marathon this summer? How about Australia, where it will be cooler!

Ha, ha, moose are fast! Glad the skier got out of the way in time. A guy was killed here a few years ago. He walked out of a building at the university and a moose (people had been bothering it) charged, kicked him in the head and killed him. Scary!

A really good movie is "I've Loved You for So Long." It's French and it's amazing. Watch the subtitle version, not the dubbed. The dubbed voices sound false and totally ruin the mood.

A good TV on DVD series I discovered is "In Plain Sight." Didn't think I'd like it but I love the messy family dynamics.

Cheers and happy, happy.

I'm dying to see Argo, comes out in DVD soon! Can't wait! Bummed I was not able to take the time to see it before now! I would love to travel to do a running race! Tri traveling sounds complicated and expensive! A run with great views and nice course!
