Three Quick Things Thursday

1. I am totally overwhelmed after just one afternoon of car shopping.  I actually have a new car sitting in my yard for the night but I am not sure I am going to buy it.  I do love it but need to get the financing figured out. Yikes!  More news on this to come.

2.  L.L. Bean, one of my favorite retailers, always does July 4th up big at their main digs.  They have a race, music etc. But this year they are also having eating contests and one of them is whoopie pies. I would die to be part of that contest. I wish I lived closer but no go.  I will have to just go buy one or two or three whoopie pies and it will be much less than the cost of gas to be in the contest. But oh wouldn't I love to be trying everyone's best whoopie pie?!?!?! The best WP I ever had in my life came from a bakery in Freeport (no longer there to my dismay) and it was pumpkin flavored.  Yum!

Location: L.L.Bean - Freeport, Maine
Time: ‎11:00AM Saturday, July 9th

3. I had to laugh at how many of you responded of also imagining serial killers/vampires etc. in the dark, around corners, hidden in strange places as you run.  It goes to show that not only are we active people we are also very brave people to get our sweat on in spite of our overactive imaginations! Thanks for letting me know I am not alone.  This
guy (Ted Bundy) to the right is the creepiest because he seemed so normal!

We live in the same country, but two very different worlds apparently. I can't imagine being allowed to bring home a car I haven't signed my life away for and have never even seen a whoopie pie (though I would definitely like to). Serial killers, on the other hand, yes I worry about them all the time!!

Mmmm.....I have never had a whoopie pie but they sound delicious! If only one could make a gluten free version, then I'd be set!

Also, I always imagine what I would do on a run if I ended up injured or dying. Very strange. Not suicidal thoughts, but more of a plan of action if I were ever to be in that situation. Yea, I probably sound crazy.

What's a whoopie pie?

Good luck with the car decision!

Yours is the second blog that has mentioned whoopee pies today. I anticipate a bunch of recipe swapping occurring over the next few days. :)

Good luck choosing a car! It is a tough process, but you ultimately need to decide what's best for you and your husband (if he would drive it too).

I don't know what a whoopie pie is either, but I'm betting it's got plenty of calories! Good luck with the car!

I am another of the Whoopie Pie ignorant. It sounds good. Bet it tastes good too.

Ted Bundy is a scary one! Enjoy your WP, even if it isn't at the LLBean celebration.

I LOVE whoppie pies...serious love.
I just bought a new car yesterday...it wasn't as stressful as I thought but we have a great relationship with our dealer.

Good luck with your car shopping.
I'm interested to know which serial killer books you were reading. I just started reading the first Dexter book.

Even more creepy is: Joel Rifkin, who is now 52, was convicted of killing nine women, mostly drug addicts and prostitutes, from 1989 to 1993. Rifkin actually admitted to killing 17 victims, with some of the murders being carried out in the East Meadow ranch he shared with his mother and sister.
That is where I am from & he was in my brother's class. Luckily my HS was huge.

I love whoopie pies! I don't know if I would love say 100 of them at once though... not to say I would not be willing to try it. :)

I have never eaten whoopie pies but they look very good.
The only serial killer I know is my lady cat: she kills for fun lizards, geckos, butterflies, little birds and ... she also looks normal....
I always fight against her to free those poor animals.

I have no idea what a whoopie pie is LOL.

I don't like things like buying a new car. It costs so much time to make the right decision and I'm not into cars. Hope you will get one that suits you soon.

I am so glad I am not the only one who has no idea what a whoopie pie is.
Buying a car is a major headache. Good luck to you.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Ted's my favorite! Okay - I know that sounds so very wrong. *Note: My dream is to be Clarice Starling at catch serial killers, so really its not like I have some sick thing like those women that want to marry them. Ick!

I listened to Ann Rule's book about Ted Bundy while training for my first half marathon. Even in broad daylight I couldn't help but look very carefully at every single man I spotted!

Good luck with the car shopping. It is fun when you finally have it, but not fun to go through all that messy work to get it!

Yum! Love me some Whoopie pie.

Good luck with the car thing. It took me more than a year to finally buy my Pilot this past February...
