Too Much Excitement Before the Run Even Starts!

Miserable fox - stay out of  our yard!!

When T and I started our morning run we weren't prepared to have more adrenaline than in a race in the first few minutes.  We were headed down my driveway when I saw a fox on steroids loping across my yard.  I headed back to the house to tell my husband it was there but I wasn't too concerned.  Before I knew it T was screaming, I looked back and the fox was closing in on my cat in a hot pursuit.  The cat veered into the house as my husband shot out of the front door to help. Meanwhile T was holding the side door and hurredly closed it as she thought the fox was going to follow the cat inside!  Too much excitement before we even got out of the driveway! (The cat is fine, the  fox has not given up though and was just spotted today in the upper field.)

The snow wasn't sticking to the ground but it is certainly on the blossoms.

Once we got going on our run it started snowing. Yes, snowing. Last week we raced in 80 degrees. This.Is.The.Strangest.Spring.Ever!  It snowed the entire 11 miles and always seemed to be in our faces spitting in my eyes and mouth.  I had to get out  some of the "winter" running clothes I had put away!  Enough already!

A Mother's Day gift from my son!
Life is great....Fitness makes it better!

Two workouts at the gym this week.  Not very good ones. I think I prefer the snow even!!!

Great job on the snowy and "foxy" run :)

Very cool t-shirt!

You're going to have to teach your cat some self-defence.

What an exciting fox story! Glad your cat is fine! And snow? Wow!

I agree, this has been such a goofy spring. You had snow!?! It is May...right?

When I was growing up a fox ended up getting an entire litter of kittens:( I was devastated! Those foxes can be so sneeky and sly. I am glad to hear that your cat is fine!

Love your shirt!
Foxes are cunning and bold. A few years ago they raided our campsite at one of the local state parks. At first when we hear the noise we thought those were raccoons but nope, those were foxes. Cute but very naughty.
Hope your kitty is not afraid of the great outdoors now.

cute shirt :)
It was 75 on Sunday and tonight we're suppose to get 5" of snow. FIVE!! I think I need to move to Florida next winter with all the old folks! And careful with kitty, I'm pretty certain that's what got our cat a year ago and left the carcus in our neighbor's yard :(.

What is up with spring? I feels like March around here instead of May. Love the shirt. Great job on your run.

Glad the cat is fine! The weather is weird everywhere. We're supposed to get rain maybe up to the end of March, but had a very wet April(records everywhere) and we still have rain now. I'd prefer snow before the gym anytime.

That shirt is so cute! Some serious craziness going on around you - the weather, the fox ...

You asked about the Gu. I preferred it because it didn't stay in my mouth like the chomps do. With Chomps I tend to get cottonmouth and it is horrible. The gu was much better!

That is quite a bit of excitement! So glad the kitty escaped. Great shirt---your son did a good job of nailing the gift.

Yay! Finally working. Could not comment on blogs all morning ... silly blogger error messages!

ANYWAY (and I think I have typed this comments 5 times now, lol):

Scary about the fox! I hope he leaves your poor cat alone. My parents have had coyotes around, bothering the pets.

Crazy weather, huh? Same around here. Humidex last week, wind chill factor over the weekend. Yikes!

Wow!! Not a good stalker to have in your neighborhood. I hope your cat has eyes in the back of its head.

Yikes!! We had a raccoon try and make friends with us the other night.

Great shirt!!

Yikes - scary! We don't have foxes around here, but we have coyotes and they will do pretty much the same thing. Always have to watch your little animals. Sounds like he is getting pretty aggressive.

I agree- love the shirt!!
Also if you looking for a race around my neck of the woods – this 5k in Saratoga is fun – it’s on July 24 & called Silks & Satins – “Opening weekend of the Saratoga Racing season- Enjoy this fantastic race in a beautiful Saratoga neighborhood along side of the track. See the horses warming up while you stretch out. Fast and flat course. Amazing breakfast for runners provided by Price Chopper!”

Great present by your son!
I totally agree its been a wacky spring and not just in the northeast! We had the same problem in Atlanta!

Good luck with the fox.

Strange weather is correct - snowed the last 2 nights here. Be careful with that fox - they do not give up very easy, so you'll have to safeguard the kitty!

I'll be the first to admit, I'm fickle with the weather! But really, I feel for you - well, as much as I can since we don't get snow, you have me beat on that! But all weekend it was cold, wet and windy and through Monday! Then starting Wednesday mid 70's and beautiful! This is NOT the California weather I pay high property taxes for! Hahaha!
Nice job on the 11 miles! I hope school is out for you soon!
