Lucky Me- Brain Exchange Monday

Wow!  I won two giveaways recently!  First I won from Julie this giant bunch of loot including a movie I have been wanting to buy!  Then I was reading blogs when lo and behold I saw that I had won again from
Running Diva Mom.  She has lots of giveaways and it was great to win one!  Thanks guys!  I am entering some current giveaways a little more vigorously as I now think I have a chance!

I have missed the last two Monday Brain Exchange from Finishing is Winning but this week I am going to give it a go again because it is a subject near and dear to my heart.

Topic:  Summer Racing
Question:  What are your summer race plans?  Are you trying anything new this year?  What race are you looking most forward to?
I plan to race as much as I can this summer.  I am racing in two new states, Maryland and Colorado. One is a 12K Trail Race. Both the distance and the trail aspect are new.  The Maryland race has a mother/daughter division.  I will race as always on July 4.  I hope to do the Stowe 8  Miler.  I love the distance, the scenery, and it is a loop!  It will depend on if I am home. I was going to try a 10 miler but I will be gone when the one I wanted to try is happening.  I hope to run the Susan G. Komen 5K. I have had to miss this the last couple of years.  I am going to race the 100 on 100 at the end of the summer with a team of 6. This is an awesome race and I found out last year how much fun it is to be part of a team.  Next weekend - is Memorial Day kicking off summer - I am racing in the VCM, a half marathon component!  I am wildly looking forward to this.  I know I will find some other races to run, hopefully some I have never done before.  I may try some new ones in June but it depends on how overwhelming the end of the year is at school.

Last night I ran and accomplished something which rarely happens up here in the hills! But one of my students told me his baseball team was playing in my town so after supper I ran to the game. Two of my boys were on the team plus several students I have had other years.  I sat and watched for a couple innings - time enough to see everyone hit (Or attempt to) before I ran home.  I had a great time and was glad I took the time to do it.
I also need to be posting my half marathon goals for this Sunday! This is the one I've been training for!  Coming soon!

I think it's so neat when teachers go to their students' games. My daughter's teachers and even the principal have done that and it really makes the kids feel special :)

I always believe that it is the little things that we adults do that have the most impact on the little kids.

I coached softball for 4 years...I did not coach this year but went to the championship game last night. They lost, but I was still so proud of them! Our boys play in the championship next week...fingers crossed!

Ps- your 100 on 100 run sounds like a great time!

That's a lot of racing...sounds like fun! What a great teacher you are...the kids must have loved that you went to see them. Good luck with your half-marathon...I'm getting a little scared because the weather forecast more my half is hot and humid...not used to that. Yikes.

I'm moving into winter on my side of the world and for me that is the beginning of more trail runs. You have a busy summer planned.
I can imagine how impressed the kids would be when a teacher runs to their game.

I love to go see the students :) I can't do it as much since I have had kids, but I want to do it again in the future. I hope you have a wonderful day!

You have lots of races coming up in the future...good...that means race reports:) I have to fill in races when I figure out my marathon training schedule. I like keeping my schedule filled with races. It keeps me motivated! Also, I am sort of getting addicted to racing:)

I hope that you enjoy the rest of your week!
