At home - our own beautiful foliage shot
I did not run at my PT appointment on Friday. My PT and I mutually agreed that it wasn't time. I was totally okay with it. Once it is harder to ride my attitude may change but right now I want to go longer without the running. I don't want to do more damage. I am not totally resting it with the biking but it is much better than the running impact.
Today I had errands to do in Middlebury so I took my bike and rode on an old favorite route from when I lived there. I had run on parts of it recently but it had been many many years since I had biked it. I got a friend to come with me. It was a completely gorgeous day, mostly sunny and perfect temps. The foliage is really getting beautiful and I wanted to get out and enjoy it. I plan to do the same tomorrow. It was a pretty typical ride with rolling hills for the most part. The beginning is mostly uphill and today there was very dusty construction going on. At one point my friend asked me if we would be coming back through this. No we are doing a loop! We actually headed back into Midd. at one point but took a sharp turn to head back the way we had come on an alternate road to extend the ride. I love being on new roads and gawking at the sights! I took my camera so bear with me as there are plenty of pics!

Isn't this a great shot? It was just gorgeous!

Once again...you live in the most beautiful place!
Fall is my favorite too. Today was perfect: chilly breeze, a bit of drizzle, and leaves doing back flips in the air.
Fall is fantastic for great photos - very nice! Glad the riding is accommodating you while you rehab the heel!
Gorgeous views! There's something beautiful about bales of hay on a large patch of greens. And I love that covered bridge!
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!
Hope the weather stays nice and warm so you can explore more of those fantastic country roads.
Gorgeous! I can't wait to get up there in a couple of weeks!
Just like Bridges of Madison County - very pretty. I'm a big Autumn fan too. It's nice to get the reprieve from the heat. We don't get much in the way of pretty Autumn foliage here. Most of the trees are evergreen so I love seeing pictures of the reds, oranges and yellows.
Beautiful! Fall is my favorite season, too, and October my favorite month. Enjoy those leaves!
Oh my gosh I still can't believe that you live in such a beautiful place.
I love fall too. I'm definitely not a Summer girl. Although fall has sometimes lots of rain I still love it. Usually it's perfect running or biking weather.
Just lovely! Fall is wonderful, we only seem to get kissed by it for a week, but it looks like you get the true beauty of it!
What a beautiful place. Postcard beautiful!
so pretty! Our leaves are just starting to change, I think we're going to decorate for Halloween today!
Fall is definitely a great season! Lovely photos...what beautiful scenery surrounds your home :)
Yay for our bikes as our foot heals :)
Once again, I live vicariously through your beautiful pictures! :) You're lucky to live with such gorgeous surroundings, but I think you know that! BTW, I read one of your previous posts where you wrote about stretching. I'm glad you're giving stretching a chance. I hope it'll help you as much as it has helped me! Have a great week!
That is it! I am planning a trip to your state for next year! It is so beautiful there....I love all of the pictures that you took. Seeing the fields of hay reminds me of growing up on a farm.
You are so lucky to have a bike and ride it with scenery like that:)
Great pictures. I especially love the bridge one. I noticed there's a sign that says 'No bicycles in the bridge'. I would have ignored it too. Riding through the bridge would be too tempting!
OH, thanks so much for these photographs! I felt like I experienced a little slice of "early fall." Just gorgeous. Good for you and waiting to run, so smart. It's just not worth it! I heard today that on the day you feel ready to run, wait 24 hours more and then go for it! It was a blurb on injuries on MARATHON TALK from itunes. It was last weekend's episode. Check it out, I listened to it on my long run this morning and it's a psychologist talking about injuries and dealing with them. She also has some neat thoughts on racing. PLEASE check this out, I think you'll like it. Emily, too!
Amazing foliage shot!
Love all the riding pics too... what gorgeous scenery! I hope the cycling weather cooperates for you as long as possible!
Love your photos! Hope you get back to running soon but until then keep taking those biking pics.
I love the covered bridge and the hay bales picture.
Beautiful! There is nothing like fall in the northeast. That's certainly something I miss out here on the west coast.
I *heart* fall, too! I want it now!
And, you live in the most beautiful place in the world! Makes me want to pack up and become your neighbor!
You live in a postcard!
Fall is my favorite season. So pretty and I love the perfect temperatures!
